How to fix your AutoCAD 2007 to PDF solid hatch problems

It has occurred to me a couple of times. The file PDF was made in illustrator with dwg imported from Rhino. When viewed from Acrobat it looks fine, but some lines were missing when printed out, even from different printers. Has anyone had the same experience? I've actually run into this problem printing directly via InDesign. I have a Canon pixma printer so my first impression is that the lines are too thin for the inkjet nozzle. I haven't investigated the problem yet, but I'm planning on narrowing the problem down this weekend and I'll post my findings.

So I printed to a color laserjet printer and as I suspected I didn't run into any issues. It's either the limitations of your printer head nozzle, printer drivers, or how you export to PDF.

You'll need to play around with the last two variables e. I found that printing the PDF as an image solves the problem. I just wanted to say, whether you read this or not, thank you. This solved my problem. What a dumb fix for such a stupid issue. I am using adobe PDF reader and I am experiencing the same problem.

Are there any solutions that may be useful? Thank you. It's simple. If this is happening in Adobe Reader:- 1- Make sure "Print in grayscale black and white " is checked. We had an issue with printing GL bubbles and dimensions which weren't orthogonal on an angle. Adobe would read it on the desktop, but the prints wouldn't show up. Opening with Edge allowed us to print dimensions, but no GL bubbles. Opening with Chrome not only fixed the missing line issue but all the print is much clearer.

I had the same issue and noticed that it wasn't printing the lines with lineweight 0. I guess this only helps if the lineweight is not key for the project.

AutoCAD Line Type Scales, The Secret Truth.

I'm trying to print to. Any ideas? Go to Solution. Solved by jaich. What happens when you use the native PDF creator? Does this happen with just one file, or all of them? Also check if you got any wipeouts in your drawing as a 3D object it create problem in printing.

There are now four AutoCAD variables that govern your line type scale. It can seem a little confusing, so hang on tight while we take a run through them…. If you use Paper space layouts, just leave this set at 1. You can use this feature to vary the linetype scale of your lines as you draw them. This variable controls the linetype scaling of geometry displayed in paper space viewports — P aper S pace L ine T ype S cale. This variable only has two settings.

How to Turn Scanned Hand Drawings Into AutoCAD Drawings

I'm fairly new to cad, been using it for less than a year but have never had this problem before: when i export a dwg file to pdf not all the lines appear Why do some users immediately assume going nuclear deleting and replacing a program is the only option? I'm pretty sure the topic of missing lines in a PDF have been discussed here numerous times. Did you try a search of CADTutor for similar threads or look at the bottom of this page where it lists Similar Threads?

AutoCAD, a computer-aided design program from AutoDesk, allows you to create precisely-scaled technical drawings on your computer. For small businesses in fields like architecture and engineering, these portable digital files allow for easy sending to clients and collaborators, prompting many to import their old paper designs into the program for conversion into digital formats. Although a number of paid applications exist to simplify the process of converting a scanned paper design -- if you need the AutoCAD file to exactly represent you paper version -- your best bet is still importing the file and tracing over it. While tedious, this process guarantees accurate and complete conversion.

Missing lines when printing (PDF)

Thanks very much to Brian M Curran for this Guest post. I complete most of my projects with AutoCAD It is true that when PDF format drawings with the solid hatch problem are printed, that the inconsistency in the solid areas do not appear in the printouts.

Our problem occurs when using the following applications: - Adobe Acrobat Standard 7. But every once and a while it produces an incomplete PDF where a group of lines is missing or part of a view. This is a serious problem when our PDF's are used as production drawings and parts are missing. The problem occurs only once and a while and without any pattern. Unfortunately re-checking our pdf's is not an option as this is time-consuming. So any help on this subject would be very much appreciated.

The reason for this is that somebody way back when felt that they should consider any margin less than 0.
