This study uses primary data in the form of questionnaires distributed and filled out by respondents using a purposive sampling technique. As independent variables in this study are compensation, training and development, and organizational culture, while dependent variables are job satisfaction and employees retention. The job satisfaction variables also function as a mediation variable. To test the hypothesis SEM analysis is used. Employee turnover in the hotel industry is problematic and can be dysfunctional. There cannot be a cohesive successful team, if the team members are always changing. However, it is not just the retention of the staff that is of interest here, it is the examination of those elements of human resource practices, over which these establishments have some control. Off the job training takes place away from the working station and most hotels rarely take this form of training because of the intensity of work. The broad objective of this study was to investigate the effects of human resource practices on employee turnover in selected medium size hotels in Kisumu City. A survey was undertaken to collect data from faculty members working in public sector universities in Pakistan. PLS path modeling was employed to analyze the data. The results revealed that training and development and the support of the supervisors had a significant relationship with the retention of employees.
